This collaborative course is intended for individuals who will perform SAN management activities using vendor-specific tools in a Dell Technologies environment. Connectrix SAN switches are administered through CLI and UI management tools for configuration in a multi-switch fabric to enable communication between hosts and storage.
The concepts of SAN design, configuration, and management for B-Series switches from Broadcom and MDS-Series switches from Cisco is provided.
To further enrich your learning experience, collaborative lab sessions will allow for collective student exploration and practical application of the course material.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Describe the components of a Fibre Channel fabric.
• Perform configuration and management tasks on Dell Connectrix B-Series and MDS-Series switches.
• Manage zoning on B-Series and MDS-Series switches.
• Configure virtualization features including VSANs, Virtual Fabrics, NPIV, NPV, and Access Gateway.
• Expand fabrics by merging switches.
• Perform basic troubleshooting using SAN Management tools.
